After an absence of three years, F1 returns to the gaming scene, courtesy of new licensee Codemasters.

Set to be the first in a new generation of Formula One video games, this officially licensed Wii and PSP title will feature current world champion Lewis Hamilton, as well as Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vetted and all the official drivers, teams and circuits from the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship.

New aerodynamic regulations, the return of slick tyres and the introduction of KERS promise to make 2009 the most exciting season to date.

But attention to detail and realism won't blunt the fun factor, thanks to F1 2009’s ‘Fair Race’ game balancing, which allows players of all levels to compete together.

Thanks to the official licensing, players can, for the first time, race as Lewis Hamilton - or any of the other current crop of stars, including surprise championship pace-setter Jenson Button, as well as all the associated teams, from Ferrari and McLaren to the all new Brawn GP team.

Likewise, all 17 of the 2009 season tracks are recreated in meticulous detail, including the iconic Monaco, the Singapore night race and the all new 2009 Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Players will not only get the chance to experience the race, but the full race weekend experience, including practice sessions, qualifying and race day or jump straight into a Quick Race. Player choice makes this an entirely flexible title with broad appeal.

But F1 2009 isn't just about racing against the AI. With split-screen co-operative and head-to-head multiplayer featuring, players can take on or race with their friends and enjoy the race in a whole new way.

With superb visuals, realistic damage modelling, and multiple control set-ups, F1 2009 is the complete package for F1 racing fans, and driving game fans alike.
